What strategies can I use to figure out unknown words in my reading? (Look at the pictures, sound out the words, think about what word makes sense in the sentence, find smaller words in larger words, reread the sentence)
Sometimes students get stuck relying primarily on sounding out words. It is very beneficial to develop a variety of strategies and make sure that students understand what they are reading.
