Highlights

Ms. Bain: We talked about changes in our lives during Social Studies.

Mrs. Diduch: We spent time in our building centers exploring different kinds of materials.

Home Reading: Please have your child read for a minimum of 15 minutes per night.  This can be a paper book or Raz-Kids.  If using Raz-Kids please have your child listen to the book, read the book, and then complete the comprehension quiz (independently). 

Ms. Bain’s class:  Practice the spelling lists sent home at student-led conferences.  (You may want to pick 3-5 words to work on each night.)

Mrs. Diduch’s class:  spelling words:  Know, light, make.
Our Tell and Show letter for this week is “Q’. Please state the clues in questions. If your child is behind they will be aloud to share more than one during their time slot.

Ms. Bain’s class:  We started using our new listening centres. 

Mrs. Diduch’s class:  Keyboarding skills with Dance Mat Typing.  Dance Mat Typing 

Homework:
Please have your child read for a minimum of 15 minutes per night.  This can be a paper book or Raz-Kids.  If using Raz-Kids please have your child listen to the book, read the book, and then complete the comprehension quiz (independently).

Ms. Bain’s class:  We are starting to use headphones for our computer and listening centres.  If you would like your child to have their own personal headphones, please send a pair in a plastic bag labeled with your child’s name.

Highlights:
Ms. Bain’s class:  We used our sense of touch to describe mystery objects hidden in a paper bag.

Mrs. Diduch’s class:  Smell test centres.

Reminders:
-Student-led conferences Thursday from 4-8 pm and Friday from 8 am- 12 pm.  Please come during the hour slot you have booked.  If you need assistance booking a time, please phone the office. 

These conferences are designed so that students can show their parents what they have been learning at different centres in the classroom.  There will be up to four families in the classroom each hour.  The gym and music room also have centres set up (please limit your time in these two centres to 10 minutes each in order to accommodate the large number of students in the school).  We look forward to seeing you!

Highlights:
Ms. Bain’s class:  We made our names in Braille.

There was a substitute in for Mrs. Diduch today.  Students worked with the straws and connectors to build tall structures.

Please have your child read for a minimum of 10-15 minutes per night.  This can be a paper book or Raz-Kids.  If using Raz-Kids please have your child listen to the book, read the book, and then complete the comprehension quiz (independently). 

Reminders:
   1.    Booking for Student Led Conferences is now open.  To book go to the Panorama Hills website and click on the MY CBE ACCOUNT button.  This is not a private Parent Teacher Conference, as there will be up to 4 families in the classroom per hour.  This is your child’s opportunity to show you what they have been working on as you engage in a variety of different activities.  If you require a private meeting with your child’s teacher please send them an email to book an alternate time.
