Highlights

We started our last week of spelling before we take a little break from official spelling homework.  Students will be given a spelling assessment and then begin leveled lists in January.  In Science we started learning about our sense of sight.  During music classes, students have been busy preparing for our winter concert.

Word Study (spelling):  Practice spelling and write one line of the following words:  here, what, will.  

There will be a spelling quiz on Thursday of the words from last week and this week.  

Important Information

There is no school Friday, Dec. 4.

Highlights

This afternoon students learned about “Iris” and they used the computers to type information about their learning.  Students will be working more with Iris as the year progresses.

Homework

Reading- Paper books or Raz-kids book.  Students should be reading at least 10-15 minutes each night.

Highlights

Both classes really enjoyed their soccer lesson with guests from the Canadian Soccer Federation.

In math we started talking about addition doubles (e.g, 1+1=2, 2+2=4, 3+3=6, 4+4=8, etc.)

Ms. Bain’s class: Today was the first day Miss Jacques was with the class for the full morning.  Ms. Bain started her new job of supporting teachers and students with literacy during this time.

Highlights

We finished our bedroom floor plans in Social Studies and marked our work using a rubric.  Students had to assess their work based on use of labels, how neat their work was and whether their floor plan looked like their bedroom.

Tomorrow we have some special guests from the Canadian Soccer Federation coming to our gym class!

Spelling quizzes and new spelling words for the next 2 weeks were sent home today.
