Highlights
Today we practiced logging into the
computers and students tried out a colour-mixing program where they learned
about mixing different colours of paint.
Homework
Reading: Students should be reading 10-15 minutes each night (either the
paper books, Raz-kids books, their own books at home or library books if they
are at an appropriate level). It is very
beneficial for students to read a book multiple times to improve their reading
fluency.
Word Study
(spelling): Practice
spelling and writing one line of the words “you” “can” and “in.”
There will be a review quiz on Friday.
Please continue to review the words on the spelling list sent home last
month.
Important
Information
As part of the Senses unit in Science, we will be having a guest
speaker from the Canadian National
Institute for the Blind (CNIB). Please read the note sent home for more
information. Parents must sign and return the consent form
attached in order for students to participate.
The CNIB has requested one
parent volunteer for each class. We
will do a random draw of parents who return the volunteer slip attached to the
letter.
Cans in Both
Hands:
Donations for the Calgary Veterans Food Bank
Grade 3 students came to talk to both classes about the veteran’s
food bank.
The Calgary Veterans Food Bank is collecting non-perishable food items at our school beginning
the first of November. Many of our Canadian veterans, their widows and
dependants will be benefiting from your generous donations. Please bring your non-perishable food items
to place in the collection boxes located inside the doors through the school’s
main entrance.
