Highlights:
Ms. Goldenberg shared a story to both of our classes today.

Homework:
Please have your child read for a minimum of 15 minutes per night.  This can be a paper book or Raz-Kids.  If using Raz-Kids please have your child listen to the book, read the book, and then complete the comprehension quiz (independently).

Mrs. Diduch: Our spelling routine has changed to review our No Excuse grade one words. We will be reviewing 12 words a week. A choice board for activities has been sent home. Today we are doing “Military spelling”. This weeks words are: about, after, all, animal, any, are, away, be, because, boy, brother, and but. (The kindergarten list has been sent home as well so that you can review at your own pace.)

Mrs. Diduch needs a couple of parent volunteers to help in the classroom during our building things unit. Helpers will be running glue guns etc. Please e-mail her if you can help on May 13th from 2:00-3:00.

            Volunteer Tea: May 26, 1:30pm-2:30pm: Please join us in appreciating the wonderful volunteers at Panorama Hills School. On Tuesday May 26th 2015 from 1:30PM – 2:30PM, we will be hosting a Volunteer Tea in our Gymnasium to recognize and celebrate all that our volunteers do for our school community. Come and enjoy some special treats served by none other than our silver service grade 3 Student Voice team! We look forward to seeing you there!
            Panorama Hills School will be hosting our Multicultural Night on May 28, and there is still time to get involved! You are invited to contribute something from your family's culture at this event. You could share a traditional game, story, dance or song, or create a display. The deadline for applications is Monday April 20 - please contact Angela Williams at smithaf@telus.net or check the school blog for more information.

Ms. Bain’s class:  Ms. Bosse came to talk to us about “Zones of Regulation.”

Mrs. Diduch’s class:  We have begun talking about 2D and 3D shapes.

Highlights:
Ms. Bain’s class:  We learned two math games on different websites.

www.jmathpage.com  (Snakes and ladders game- under the “Number” section).  This game helps students practice addition and become more familiar with numbers to 100. 

www.coolmath.com  (Number twins- have students click on the heading which says “Practice” first).  This game is a great way to practice addition facts.  

Mrs. Diduch’s class:  We made paper mache monsters.

Homework:
If your child is not using the raz-kids website each night, please tell them to bring home a paper book to read.  It is important that students continue to practice their reading each night.

Reminders
    Bowmont Park Field tripMay 11.   Note: Heathy Hunger orders can be canceled or deleted as long as it is before the 5-day cut-off.  To cancel an order go to the "My orders" tab and select "My Up-Coming Orders". You will see all of your up-coming orders with a "Delete" button to the right. When you delete an order your refund will be automatically sent to your method of payment. It will show on your Credit Card or bank account within 24-48 hours.

Mrs. Diduch’s class:  In Science we have observed many changes in our seeds and plants that we are growing, already!
