It is hot out! This week, kids will be going outside for lunches, as well as for Gym. Sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and water bottles are always a good idea!

Highlights

In Math, we did more with place value. We continued work on our Arbour Day mixed media trees today. In the afternoon, we did our tear art flags.

Homework
  • Reading
  • Spelling lists (tests will be happening this week)
  • Dreambox math
**Many students have overdue library books. Please check and home and return them as soon as possible.

Important Information & Dates

- Invitations for our Volunteer Appreciation Tea on May 19 went home.
- Thursday is the Spring Concert (Grade 3 and K)
- Friday May 6 is Arbour Day and BBQ
- Friday May 20 is a PD Day (no school)
- Monday May 23 is Victoria Day (no school)
- Wednesday May 25 is Children's Festival field trip

Volunteers for Field Trips

All Grade 1 classes are going on a field trip to Children's Festival. Each class needs 5 volunteers. We will be spending the day downtown, and seeing a performance by Fred Penner! If you have your security clearance, we would love to have you join us!
*Ms. Hansen's class has had many volunteers! Mrs. Schroeder/Ms. Bain's class could use 1-2 more.'

2015 Yearbook Offer
Dear Parents, if you missed out on ordering a yearbook last year,  you have one more chance to order.
If there are enough orders to make a print run, the 2014-2015 Yearbooks will be available for $35 each. We will need 50 books to make this feasible.
Please see the front office to get an order form by May 9th 2016.
