Highlights
We have been busy this week. Here are some of the things we have been
doing…
-We painted and completed an addition doubles
page in our creative journal.
-We are learning to use addition doubles to
help solve other addition facts (e.g., if 4+4=8, then 4+5=9 because it is one
more).
-We finished our class story about a gingerbread
kid in Panorama Hills School. Ms. Bain
typed the story and we each illustrated our own copy.
-We had DEAR day on Wednesday (Drop Everything
and Read). Three times during the day
there was an announcement and everyone in the school had to stop what they were
doing and read. Students may record 30
minutes of reading time on their tracking sheet for this day.
-We measured the temperature in 3 different
places and talked about the concept of positive and negative numbers on a
thermometer.
-We worked on some art for the winter concert
next week and we practiced our concert song.
-We played basketball in gym.
-We learned about what the land is like in
Iqaluit.
