Highlights
We reviewed how to login and use Dreambox.  Please take advantage of this program and have your child use it at home to practice math concepts.

This week we are finishing our Science unit about Magnets and then we will be starting our next unit on Liquids.  We also started reading “Sunset of the Sabertooth,” which is the 7th novel in the Magic Tree House series.  In Math we are working on counting objects by 2, 5 and 10.

Important Information

Thursday, Oct. 27- Parent council meeting (Gr. 4 teachers will be presenting at this meeting)
Monday, Oct. 31- Black and Orange Day- Please wear black or orange.  Students are not to wear costumes to school this day.

Photos for School Remembrance Day Assembly
As part of our Remembrance Day assembly we are asking for photographs of family members, past or present, who have served in any military branch.  We are requesting a photograph to be scanned and emailed to Mrs. Boutillier (miboutillier@cbe.ab.ca). If you cannot scan the photograph please feel free to send it to school and we will scan it and return it to you. Please include their name, when they served, and any other information you would like to include.

Please send photos by November 3, 2016.

Homework
-Each night, please have your child record the date and one book they read on the home reading log.  (If the book is longer, just write the chapter read, or the number of pages).  Your child may read a book on Raz-Kids, one of the paper books sent home, a library book or magazine, etc.  The important aspect is that your child reads a “just right” book, where they are able to read the majority of words and discuss what happened in the book.  Reading logs will be collected at the end of Nov. and will be reviewed at parent-teacher conferences.

-New spelling lists were sent home for the week
