Highlights
(In cases where Monday is a holiday, the blog will be posted on Tuesday.)

Today we presented our virtue assembly for the school!  Way to go, Grade 2!

We also talked about our Reading Power minion and 5 strategies (connect, question, visualize, infer and transform), which students will be learning to use to help them better understand stories and text.  In math, we worked on reading number words to 20 and noticed patterns in some of these words, such as, all the numbers that end with “teen.”  We also started reading the Magic Tree House Book, “Night of the Ninjas.”

Homework
-New spelling lists were sent home today (quiz on Friday)
-Raz-Kids or daily reading

Ask me about:
How did the assembly go?  Were you nervous?  Excited?
The first reading power we are working on is making connections.  What does it mean if you make connections with something you read?
