**Winter concert costumes: Students in Ms. Bain’s class are asked
to wear all brown.
Students
in Ms. Hansen’s class are asked to wear all black. The doctors are asked to
wear a white shirt.
Highlights
We started our last week of
spelling before we take a little break from official spelling homework.
Students will be given a spelling assessment and then begin independent leveled
lists in January, with quizzes every few weeks. In Science we started
learning about our sense of sight. In Social Studies we are continuing with
mapping. During music classes, students have been busy preparing for our
winter concert. We are also beginning math centres.
Homework
Reading (always!)
Word Study (spelling): Students
in both classes had a quiz today. Marked quizzes will come home on Monday. We
will be taking a spelling break until January. Next week, students will be
taking a diagnostic test on the first list that went home (32 must know words).
From there, they will be placed in colour groups, and spelling practice will
take place during centres or at home.
