Highlights
On Friday we
discovered ladybugs crawling on some of the school trees, so we decided to read
a book to learn more about ladybugs.
This ties in with one of our Science units “Small Crawling and Flying
Animals.” We created a web about what we
learned and wrote about ladybugs. Today
we started reading a novel titled “Dinosours Before Dark” by Mary Pope Osborne. In math we worked on creating patterns on
different grids.
Important
information:
Scholastic book orders due:
Friday, Sept. 16 (Cash, cheque or online payment)
Don’t forget check, empty and return the blue home folders
each day. Thanks!
Homework
We are in the process
of setting up Raz-Kids reading accounts for new students, as well as changing
passwords and double checking reading levels for students who were with us last
year. A note will be sent home with
Raz-Kids instructions and your child’s new password later this week.
Our librarian is
also working hard to set up the library and students will begin bringing
library books home once it is ready.
Ask me about:
What do ladybugs
eat? Aphids
What did we do
in gym today? Yoga
We are also
working on recognizing rhyming words.
Challenge your child to find words that rhyme.
