Highlights

We had an assembly today with all the grade 2 students.  Mrs. Goldenberg welcomed us to a new school year and Mrs. Gibson read us a story called “How Full is Your Bucket?”  We also met our new music teacher Miss Kreze and had our first music class.  During gym, we are practicing for the Terry Fox run.  Please dress for the weather because all of our gym classes will be outside for the month of September.

Important information:

Students were given blue folders today.  These folders are to be returned to school every day.  Items like important notices, field trip forms, homework, etc. will be sent home in the folders.  Parents can also send notes or information to teachers in the folders.

*Please remember Fridays are early dismissal at 1:45 pm.

We would like parents or caregivers to pick up students after school at the same door and spot that they line up at to come into school in the morning.  Students will need to remain with their teachers until an adult picks them up.

If you wish to participate in our Healthy Hunger lunch days, please visit healthyhunger.ca to register and purchase lunches for your child.  Registration is free and required if your child wishes to participate.  Returning students need to re-register for the year.  Next week is our first lunch day with Subway.  Order deadline is this Saturday at midnight.

This year all teachers at Panorama will be posting updates on their blogs on Monday (or Tuesday, if Monday is a holiday) and Thursday.

Homework
-Have a good sleep tonight!

-We will not have any official homework the first week of school while students get back into routine.  Of course, we always recommend reading to your child, and having your child read to you :)

Ask me about:
What topic are we learning about in Science?  (Magnets)
What items did your magnet stick to in the classroom?  What didn’t your magnet stick to?
What letters are vowels? (a, e, i, o, u and sometimes y)

Why are vowels important?  (Every word has to have at least one vowel in it)
