Highlights
In Social Studies we shared our questions and
ideas about how an igloo could be built.
Then we watched a video, which showed how this is actually done.
In Math, we are starting to explore the
relationship between addition and subtraction.
We talked about “fact families” and students were challenged to find as
many fact families as they could. For
example, the numbers 7, 5 and 12 are in a fact family because 7+5=12, 5+7=12,
12-5=7 and 12-7=5.
We are currently reading a novel called “Vacation
Under the Volcano.” This made us curious
about volcanoes, so we read a non-fiction book called, “Danger! Volcanoes” by
Seymour Simon to find out facts about volcanoes.
