During math today, students had to come up with multiple
solutions to the following problem: A
farmer has chickens (2 legs), pigs (4 legs) and ants (6 legs). She looks out the window and sees 24
legs. What combinations of animals could
there be?
Homework
Reading- At this
point in time, grade 1 students should be reading about 15 minutes every night. J
Word study
(spelling)- Students will be tested on their spelling list near the end of
January.

a reminder that the grade 1 family movie night featuring Robots is Thursday, January 14th. Tickets and concession items must
be pre-purchased at www.healthyhunger.ca by this
Saturday. There will be absolutely no
sales after January 9th. If you are not able to purchase online please

School Calendars and Newsletters are available on the school website to view and
print out.
Scholastic
book orders are due Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016.
–Before the break, Ms. Bain and Ms. Hansen gave each student a $5 coupon to buy a book from the Scholastic orders. Please fill out the coupon and return it with
the order form. If your order is more
than $5, just subtract $5 from the total amount. Students may use their coupon for any of the
Scholastic orders from now until June.
(If you have lost your coupon, just attach a note saying which book you
want).
Jan. 14- Spirit Day- Wear gold and blue
Jan. 14- Grade 1 movie night
Jan. 15- No school for students
Jan. 21- Subway Lunch (if ordered)
Jan. 29- Reports Cards go home
