Message from Student Voice Committee
Thursday January 14 is our spirit day here at Panorama Hills School, Blue and Gold Day.  Students are encouraged to wear Blue and Gold. We are hoping that the spirit wear will be delivered by Thursday, however if not, wear what you have that is blue and gold.

Student Voice Reps will be selling Panorama Hills School bracelets to wear, $1 per bracelet.  Bring your money (exact change) by Wednesday morning.  Student Voice Reps will collect money for their classroom.

Homework
Reading- At this point in time, grade 1 students should be reading about 15 minutes every nightJ

Word study (spelling)- Keep reviewing some of your spelling words each night!!

Important Dates:

School Calendars and Newsletters are available on the school website to view and print out.

Scholastic book orders are due Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016.  –Before the break, Ms. Bain and Ms. Hansen gave each student a $5 coupon to buy a book from the Scholastic orders.  Please fill out the coupon and return it with the order form.  If your order is more than $5, just subtract $5 from the total amount.  Students may use their coupon for any of the Scholastic orders from now until June.  (If you have lost your coupon, just attach a note saying which book you want).

Jan. 14- Spirit Day- Wear gold and blue
Jan. 14- Grade 1 movie night
Jan. 15- No school for students
Jan. 21- Subway Lunch (if ordered)
Jan. 29- Reports Cards go home

Ask Me About:
Ms. Bain has 5 school bracelets and Ms. Hansen has 6 bracelets.  How many bracelets do they have altogether?  How did you figure out the answer?  (e.g., 5+5=10, so 5+6= 11 because it is one more, or I started at the bigger number which is 6 and counted 5 more.)
